Okay so 1st of all thanks for making this game it was hell of story. Great to see few ending branches. So now the 2.2 update. Its okay for me but less interesting then other like nothing much to do. Description of The Faery Tale Adventure: Book I

Faery Tale Adventure is the PC version of the Amiga classic that is unfortunately much worse than the Amiga version due to poorly implemented graphics, and bad scrolling. That probably explained why the game never sold well in PC stores. Which is a shame, because the great gameplay of the Amiga version is still intact in this version.

In this game, considered by many Amiga players to be one of the best introductory adventure/RPGs ever made, you play one of the three brothers who are tasked with recovering the magical Talisman to ward the village from impending evil. The game is played from an innovation overhead isometric angle, and you have considerable freedom to take on numerous subquests, as there is no time limit. The game's hallmark is the sheer variety of gameplay and colorful characters you will meet and fight. For example, later in the game you will have an ability to ride an enormous turtle to cross the seas, and fly on a swan to cross over mountains to explore unreachable valleys.

Various spells can be cast with appropriate magical artifacts. You one can make light, heal yourself, use a card to call or teleport yourself about the country. Simple combat sequences and the lack of detailed statistics make this a good game for RPG newbies and adventure fans, although the vast gameworld (which spans nearly 17,000 screens worth, with terrain ranging from a desert, to ice-covered landscape, underground caves, and a witch forest) and numerous subquests should also appeal to hardcore RPGers who want a relaxing break from complex epics.

Definitely MicroIllusions' best game, and well worth a play through. Highly recommended, especially for novice RPGers. If you like the game, check out its sequel, Halls of The Dead, released almost ten years later-- also on this site ;)

I have fond memories of this gem! Tips: Make sure to be in the graveyard at midnight. Use the golden swan to reach the necromancer in the ash region (SW of the map). -Cheat- On Amiga, wave your sword while riding the sea turtle to get extra items and gold.

This is amazing to see! I remember getting my Commodore 64 disc drive, and went to Swedens largest computer game store in Stockholm (they had EVERYTHING!).
I quickly spotted the only 2 copies I think ever made it into Sweden of Faery Tale, a large flat booklet package with pictures of cheesy knights and real English castles showing scenes from the game, with quite a rich story on the cover. I was hooked immediately. The thing was, it then costed about 55£ in today's worth. That was a LOT in the 80's, but my kind dad cashed up and got it for me. I was mezmerized by the game and played it frequently, but I remember I never got that far cause of the size of the game. But it's one of my fondest memories of my childhood gaming years.

This was the first game my father bought me for our Amiga 500 computer. I spent all the time I was allowed playing this game.
